Sacraments

BAPTISM

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the third Sunday of each month at 12:00 PM, following the 11:00 AM Mass, or during a regularly scheduled Mass if requested.

A family must be registered in the parish before arranging for Baptism. A Baptism preparation class is required for those parents who have not attended a class within the last two years. This class can and should be taken prior to the birth of the child, and is held quarterly on the second Sunday of January, April, July and October at 12:00 PM in Meeting Room #2. During the instruction class, a priest or deacon will explain the various elements of the celebration, as well as the responsibilities of the parents and godparents. Please contact the Parish Office to make arrangements.

FIRST COMMUNION, FIRST RECONCILIATION, AND CONFIRMATION

OLPH students in the second grade, together with Parish School of Religion (PSR) students, celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. OLPH 8th grade and PSR students celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation every year. Parent sessions are offered to help parents prepare their child for the sacraments.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY

The couple usually meets several times with the priest or deacon and attends an Engaged Couples Conference.
