THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

RCIA is the process whereby adults (age 18 and older in Canon Law), both baptized and unbaptized adults, are brought into full communion with the Catholic Church.

1st thru 8th GRADE PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR)

Faith Formation for the young parishioners attending public and non-Catholic schools is called Parish School of Religion (PSR).  These children must be attending Mass weekly with their parents.

At OLPH, PSR exists to form the faith of those young parishioners who do not attend OLPH School. The program occurs for all students on Sundays 10:00am - 11:00am beginning in September and ending in April. It is our aim to ensure that our students are spiritually fed and competent in matters of faith and church teaching.  Sacrament preparation for First Holy Communion and Confirmation is a 2 year program – Children in 1st Grade begin their preparation for receiving the Holy Eucharist.  Young people in 7th Grade begins the 2 year process for preparing for their Confirmation in 8th Grade.

HIGH SCHOOL and JUNIOR HIGH MINISTRY

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD – SUNDAY SCHOOL

We welcome children, from 3-year-old PreK through 2nd grade, to join us at Sunday School. Each Sunday, children will learn the same message as the rest of the congregation through simplified prayers, songs, and readings. They will be encouraged to take home the message they learned and share it with others. We will meet in a classroom, and doors open at 10:45 AM. Space is limited to 25 children. To register or for more information, contact Norma Jean Jackson BS MA njackson@olphtoledo.net

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)

Vacation Bible School is held during Summer vacation each year generally during the third week of June from Monday to Thursday. We want this to be a family event, and so we make it as easy for parents as we can. Registration typically begins mid-May.
